Drive towards Tomar, a charming and historically outstanding town dominated by a 12th-century Templar Castle containing one of the country most significant and impressive monuments, the World Heritage Site by UNESCO Convent of Christ.
Enjoy a private visit to the Templar Castle and a private visit to the Abraham Zacuto Portuguese-Jewish Museum.
It is housed in the oldest synagogue in Portugal and it displays a variety of interesting artefacts from Tomar and around the world.
Next stop will be Óbidos, Portugal's most romantic medieval village, also known as the "Wedding Present Town" because it was a gift King Dinis gave to Queen Isabel on their wedding day in 1282. Time for a walking tour inside the walls.
This walled town, with its narrow streets spreading from the foot of the castle, still preserves all the atmosphere of a 16th century mediaeval town. The Jewish quarter, an area was once inhabited by traders, artists and scientists, was in the centre of the town.
The effects of all this culture are clearly evident in its artistic heritage, in particular the Manueline palace that was built inside the castle walls.
