Located next to the Jardim das Amoreiras, one of the nicest gardens in the heart of Lisbon, the Casa da Comida restaurant inhabits a magnificent space very close to the Mãe de Água building. The restaurant building dates from about 1760, but people walking around the building don’t have any clue of the interior of the restaurant. The classic decoration makes the difference, with old time furniture and many antique pieces. The living room and dining room are around a fantastic indoor garden, which during the day lights up the space in a captivating way. On sunny days, diners appreciate sitting outside enjoying the beauty of the environment, with palm trees and plants. There is also a water fountain, an element that inspires calm and invites to spend a few hours here. Considered as one of the most luxurious and exquisite restaurants in Lisbon, the Casa da Comida restaurant has received several awards. Proof this are the Michelin stars achieved for several years and the distinction with the Jubileu merit medal. More recently the book that brings together all the original recipes also achieved the award of best book of food in 2001. When arriving the guest drink peacefully an aperitif in the living room (as if he was at home) and only when his meal is ready, he is invited to sit in one of the tables facing the inside garden |
