Oitavos Golf lies within Sintra – Cascais Natural Park. It not only enjoys a great location, but it is also surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Sintra Mountain range and Cape Roca. The latter is quite famous for being considered the westernmost point in mainland Europe. The course was designed by one of the greatest golf architects of our times, former president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, Arthur Hills. Being the 1st golf course in Europe and the 2nd in the world to have the Audubon International Certified Signature Sanctuary –Gold, the course’s main goal was to preserve the environment. Oitavos Golfe is similar to Scottish golf courses, as 9 of the 18 holes are located towards the north and the other 9 towards the south. |
