Salgados Golf Club is the first golf course to use residential water for irrigation purpose. The course has also been accredited with international certifications due to its effort in the cleaning of lakes and ditches.

The course is known for its many lakes, strategically located near the holes, requiring accurate shots. The course itself is not very long, but the greens require excellent skills. It is, overall, a well-balanced course.

The original project was designed by Pedro Vasconcelos, with a recent contribution from Bobert Mur Graves.
