To be launched the 31st March 2017
Be welcomed by the local Jewish Community and venture on a private visit to Sinagoga Kadoorie Mekor Haim, the largest Jewish Temple of the Iberian Peninsula. Besides knowing the symbolic and architectonic significance of this Synagogue, be invited to participate on the religious service!
Follows a leisured walk at Ribeira Square, and an optional visit to the 19th century neoclassical style Stock Exchange Palace.
For lunch, we suggest a pleasurable, welcoming and relaxed place combined with quality Portuguese inspired cuisine.
During the afternoon, indulge in a private guided tour to Porto earliest known Jewish quarter, built inside the old city wall, in what is now Rua de Santa Ana, close to Rua Escura and Largo do Colegio. It is still possible today to appreciate the mediaeval layout of these streets, not very far from the Cathedral, a masterpiece of Romanesque-Gothic architecture.
